Alberta Hope COVID-19 Trial
One of the first projects on our DCTMS platform, the Alberta Hope COVID-19 Trial was a province-wide lead by researchers at the University of Calgary and the Univeristy of Edmonton to investigate the effectiveness of the well-tolerated drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) as an early intervention for Albertans who test positive for COVID-19. This study was critical at the time, as treatment options for COVID-19 were unclear and new research was required to find new avenues to help people battle the virus.
Alberta HOPE COVID-19 Trial (ABCOV1) is a custom designed Electronic Data Capture (EDC), Randomization and Drug Management Solution developed for the purpose of facilitating the data collection for the Alberta HOPE COVID-19 Trial, while providing the following functions:
- Enables randomization of subjects based on a minimal sufficient balance algorithm
- Provides the ability to record and store patient profiles
- Provides drug management capabilities across multiple sites/locations
- Provides functionality for validating the randomization of subjects and allows for meta-data collection of 7 and 30-day follow-ups
- Dashboards, charts and reports
